The Ulysses Trust Annual Review 2021

The Ulysses Trust is proud to announce the publication of our Annual Review 2021.

Since 1992, we have supported over 38,000 cadets and reservists to undertake more than 2,900 expeditions. The Annual Review contains a detailed summary of our work in 2021 and how this compares to previous years.

In terms of results and in comparison with 2019 (the last ‘normal’ year prior to the COVID-19 pandemic):

+ 53 grants awarded

+ total grants of £169,822

+ 1,490 cadets and reservists supported

+ a steady growth towards pre-pandemic numbers of applications

+ a decrease in the total amount of grants made due to an absence of overseas expeditions and fewer applications due to COVID-19

+ a drop in the average grant per person (again due to the lack of overseas expeditions)

+ reaching more cadets in receipt of Free School Meals

+ a continued reduction in the average personal contribution for cadets to 40%

It contains:

+ details about how the Trust has responded to the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic
+ an update about our ‘New Horizons’ fundraising campaign
+ a detailed analysis of the Trust’s performance in 2021
+ the winner of the 2021 Prince of Wales’s Expeditionary Award
+ case studies that investigate the impact of the expedition experience
+ messages from our adventurous ambassadors Lev Wood and Tania Noakes
+ a regional breakdown of where our grants went
+ a breakdown of our outcome measurement to ascertain the impact of our grants
+ financial and funder details, with special thanks to our supporters and donors
+ a look ahead to our plans for the future

In short, everything you need to know about The Ulysses Trust in a 24 page ‘nutshell’.
