Brigadier Tim Seal appointed Chair of The Ulysses Trust

The Ulysses Trust appointed a new Chair at the RAF Club in London yesterday.

Brigadier Tim Seal (pictured left) took over from AVM Nick Kurth as our new Chair of Trustees on 8th August 2023. Tim has a background in business, the charity sector and the Reserve Forces.

On his appointment Tim said, “It is a huge privilege to be joining The Ulysses Trust – an organisation I have admired for many years. I can not think of a better mission than maximising the opportunities for cadets and reservists to experience adventurous training in fun, challenging and life-enhancing environments across the world. I look forward to working with our full range of donors, supporters, volunteers and beneficiaries to build on the legacy left by my predecessor AVM Nick Kurth.”

Our previous Chair, AVM Nick Kurth (pictured right) had been in post for 10 years and helped transform the charity into what it has become today.

The Trust is extremely grateful for all the hard work Nick has put into the charity, which includes raising over £10,000 through his charity bike rides (training in all weathers). On his departure Nick said, “It has been 10 fairly hard years but we have moved forward massively. I am grateful for all the support I have had and much enjoyed the company, enthusiasm and drive of the Trust team – and wish the team members all the very best for the future.”

As part of the handing over process, Nick presented Tim with a bronze volunteer badge, which is awarded to all our volunteers, in recognition of their dedicated service to the Trust.
