Speakers for Schools: Lightning Ascent of Everest

Garth Miller climbed to the summit of Mt. Everest in record time (3 weeks from leaving home) – a tale of courage and determination that will inspire young people, and adults alike. Garth is an Army Reserve officer, a captain for British Airways, and an extra-ordinary mountaineer.

The Ulysses Trust funds cadets and Reservists (like Garth) to go on adventurous pursuits and expeditions.  We supported Garth to make this record-breaking attempt to the summit of Everest.

To hear his story of courage, determination and resilience, please sign up to listen to this fantastic tale of adventure and challenge – and learn about the lessons such challenge can teach us about self-awareness, resilience, respect, teamwork, leadership and courage – and how The Ulysses Trust can financially support young people to benefit from similar experiences – making sure opportunities like this, and the many benefits adventure brings,  are available to everybody.

The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is the world’s most prestigious leadership training academy, and where all British Army officers are trained in teamwork and leadership, and develop young people to be the very best they can be, whatever their background, gender, ethnicity, sexuality or religion. Potential officers are selected purely on their character and potential.  The Army is an equal opportunities employer and there are over 100 careers to choose from.
