We were honoured to be presented with the Geographical Prize 2024 from Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) in South Kensignton, London on Monday 3 June 2024.
The award is given to an organisation that has provided outstanding (non-commercial) support for individuals or groups learning through expeditions, and enables the impact that arises from challenge, exploration and expeditions to benefit individuals, schools and the public.
This is a prestigious award from the world’s leading Geographical Society. The Trust is delighted to be recognised for the support we give to enable our cadets and reserve forces to undertake expeditions. Taking part in adventurous activities develops confidence, resilience, courage and integrity. It also develops life skills such as risk awareness and resourcefulness.
The award was presented during #VolunteersWeek, which is perfect timing as so much of our work is undertaken by our fabulous team of volunteers. We are hugely grateful to all our volunteer team who work so hard to support the charity.
