On Friday 20th September, 14 Cadets and 2 staff from The Royal School, Wolverhampton CCF travelled to the Army Parachute Association, Netheravon to undertake a static line parachute course. This was a fantastic experience, with many valuable lessons learnt. The cadets spent 8 hours completing a ground training course, focusing on controlling their descent and deploying their reserve chute in case of emergency. The Cadets were pushed outside their comfort zone and were suited up on Sunday morning, ready for their jump. Unfortunately, the weather prevented the final jump being completed, so the Cadets will be going back in the next 6 months to undertake their parachute jump for real.
Quote from a cadet: “The ground training was great fun and we are really looking forward to going back to do the jump!”
