Dr Amelia Rudd is a polar expedition leader, endurance athlete, inspirational speaker on adventure and mental resilience, and a mother of four. She completed a 715-mile solo, unsupported trek from the Antarctic coast to the South Pole in 2019–2020 and is now training to become the fastest woman in history to complete the route. Her expeditions are designed to inspire women and girls in particular —to pursue ambitious goals once thought out of reach. With a background in psychology and performance science, she applies the principles of marginal gains, supported by a team of sports psychologists, coaches, and nutritionists, to push the limits of physical and mental endurance.
“I’m so excited to be working with The Ulysses Trust and especially in the role of Ambassador for Diversity and Inclusion. There is room for everyone in the adventure world, and it needs to be more representative. I didn’t know when I went on a 1,000 km solo journey to the South Pole that expeditions could be so empowering or so life-changing; I am looking forward to encouraging many more people to discover the benefits of adventure through The Ulysses Trust.”
Rudd’s partnership with the Trust reflects her commitment to making adventure accessible, inclusive, and transformative for all.
