In his civilian roles, he has held senior director posts in health and social care organisations for the past 15 years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer for a large Healthcare Company.
As a serving reservist he is currently Deputy Commander 1st (United Kingdom) Division. Prior to this he successfully completed RCDS and served as Deputy Commander Home Command; a role into which he was promoted in February 2017.
In the rank of Colonel, he was the last Deputy Commander 143 (West Midlands) Brigade, with responsibility for potential officer recruitment and development, along with employer engagement, community engagement and UK Ops resilience. As a Lieutenant Colonel, he served for a short spell as SO1 G7 Trg at HQ RLC TA, following his time Commanding 158 (R ANGLIAN) Tpt Regt RLC from 2005-2008. This included formalising the first Regular pairing arrangements supporting 2LSR on Op TELIC and the 10th Anniversary Parade for HRH The Princess Royal.
Having attended the very last Command and Staff Course to be held at Bracknell before the move to Shrivenham, he spent time as Deputy Commander 2 Multi National Logistic Support Group and as Training Major and Second-in-Command at Cambridge University Officer Training Corps following sub unit command. Throughout this time, he led several OTXs and AT expeditions including to USA, Italy, Gibraltar, Ascension Island, Kenya, and Mt Kilimanjaro. His early posts were with 5 and 6 R ANGLIAN, where he finished as Recce Platoon Commander; before undergoing a cap-badge change with the re-role to the Royal Logistic Corps in 1995..
