The Ulysses Trust is pleased to offer a limited number of bursaries to Officer Cadets, Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers who are aged 18-25 to attend the Royal Geographical Society’s (RGS) Explore event 6-8 November 2026 at the Royal Geographical Society, London.
We also have a special discount code for those who want to attend, who are not eligible for the bursary – details below.
Explore brings together experienced adventurers, scientists, and expedition leaders for an inspiring weekend of ideas, advice, and hands-on planning support. It’s the ideal launchpad for anyone thinking about undertaking a challenging journey with purpose.
If you’re aged between 18-25 and a member of a University Service Unit (Officer Training Corps, University Air Squadron, or University Royal Navy Unit), or a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer within any of our MOD Cadet Forces or a Reservist, please apply for a bursary to cover the cost of the conference fee. This is your chance to get involved, be inspired, and take the first step towards planning an unforgettable expedition.

BURSARIES will cover the cost of admission, lunch and refreshments. Accommodation and travel expenses are not included. However, the RGS has negotiated some low cost (bunk room) accommodation near to the venue www.rgs.org/exploration/rgs-explore-weekend/accommodation
DISCOUNT CODE The RGS is kindly offering a special discount of 20% for those aged 25+ who are Cadet Force Adult Volunteers or reservists- (full price is £135) for the weekend (Friday evening Saturday and Sunday) which includes VAT, lunches and refreshments.
