Everest 100 Day 07 part 2

09 May 2022

Time to move up. I leave Base Camp in a few hours, heading through the Khumbu Icefall to Camp 1 at 6000m. There the plan is to rest and hydrate for 24hrs before moving up the Western Cwm to Camp 2 at 6400m. I’ll spend two nights there, allowing time to explore the lower reaches of the Lhotse Face – an intimidating and steep icy head wall. I’ll visit Camp 3, perched precariously on the Lhotse Face at 7300m, to push the acclimatisation process along a little before returning to Base Camp on 13 May. Once safely back at Base Camp it is time to rest and wait for a summit weather window. Radio Silence until then!
