Odyssey Circle Meeting – Inspiring the Next Generation

We had wonderful evening at Café Linea in Chelsea last night (Tuesday 13 October 2026). It was our annual Odyssey Circle gathering – where we bring together supporters, guests, cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) to celebrate the life-changing opportunities that challenge and adventure can provide.

Our sincere thanks to the Earl Cadogan DL (President of the Odyssey Circle) for hosting the evening and welcoming everyone.

It was a pleasure to be joined by cadets and CFAVs from London Area Sea Cadets Adventure Training-LASCAT, City of London & North East Sector Army Cadets and 282 (East Ham) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets, whose involvement is a powerful reminder of why the work of the Ulysses Trust matters.

A special thank you to our cadet speaker for sharing her perspective, and to CFAV Flt Lt Dave Hill for his contribution and continued commitment to supporting our young people.

At the heart of the Ulysses Trust is a clear purpose: to enable members of the Cadet and Reserve Forces to access challenging expeditions and adventurous activities that help them discover their potential.

🎯 Our key outcomes are about making a lasting difference:

Confidence and resilience – helping young people overcome challenges and believe in their abilities.

Leadership and teamwork – developing the skills to support others and work together.

Self-awareness and personal growth – building character, independence and the ability to make sound decisions.

Wellbeing and social inclusion – creating opportunities for young people from all backgrounds, including those who might otherwise miss out because of financial barriers.

Community and citizenship – equipping young people to make a positive contribution to their units and wider society.

These outcomes are about so much more than adventure. They are about opening doors, building character and helping young people achieve things they may never have thought possible.

To all our guests, donors, partners and supporters, thank you for believing in our mission and helping make these opportunities a reality. Your support helps the Ulysses Trust turn challenge into confidence and adventure into lasting personal development.

👏 Thank you once again to Earl Cadogan for hosting, to our speakers and attendees, and to everyone who continues to champion the work of The Ulysses Trust.
