25th Anniversary Appeal Expedition: Day 41

Gjevsjøen weather and rest day. The soft silence outside the cabin confirms that the predicted snow had finally caught up with me. With immense kindness I’d been invited to dinner by the family last night. It was wonderful to share an evening of warmth, good company and delicious non dehydrated food! We discussed my plan and various options for the route ahead. There is a long stretch of wild fjell without any cabins, which I’m hoping to cover in one long day-but I need to feel strong, ready for a fight and at least not have bad weather! Today, the forecast is for thick cloud cover and light snow all day. On the positive note the winds aren’t too strong… but it’s an easy decision for me to make. I’m not in a hurry and my plan was always not to have a fixed plan, so I decide to stay. A day off my feet, with warmth, rest and reflection will do me good. The view from the safety of my cabin door just confirms my contentment with the decision.
